Tik Works
Easy, procedural domino animation—no simulation needed.
Domino Rigger is a simulation-free, interactive tool for building domino topple animations. Select one or more curves, click to rig any number of dominoes, then drive the entire sequence with a single slider on the master controller. Instant feedback, predictable results.
No simulation waiting times.
No unexpected outcomes.
What it does
- Rigs domino chains along selected splines or NURBS curves
- Lets you play the animation with one slider (per chain, per root, or global)
- Offers easy timing & randomization controls you can tweak anytime
- Works over custom ground geometry—no flat floor required
Key features
- Curve-based creation: Use splines or NURBS for the path.
- Domino shape control: Box or ChamferBox; adjust width, height, length, fillet, and fillet segments.
- Instances or unique meshes: Choose what suits your scene/performance.
- Ground aware: Project and align dominoes to any picked ground object.
- Hierarchy option: Link splines; branches propagate the topple from root to child.
-
Flexible controllers:
- Separate controller per spline
- One controller per root (when using hierarchy)
- Single global controller for all splines
- Tweak tools: Adjust rest rotations, collision timing, and rest timing quickly.
-
Color utilities: Random colors, gradients, or colors sampled from a textured ground object
(Standard materials only.) - Always interactive: Change settings after creation—no re-sim needed.
Quick workflow
-
Draw your curve(s).
For continuous motion across branches, link splines into a hierarchy. Leave the root spline unlinked. - (Optional) Create a ground plane/mesh. Add segments; apply Noise/Wave for variation. Place curves slightly above ground.
-
Run Domino Rigger.
- Use Add (under Splines) to add splines one by one — or List to grab all.
- Check Use Ground and Pick Ground if you want projection onto your custom floor.
-
Create Rig.
Controllers are created based on your settings. - Animate. Select a controller and use the Action slider in the Modifier panel to drive the topple.
Usage & License Activation
Requirements: 3ds Max (64-bit, Windows). Internet connection required for activation (offline grace thereafter).
-
Download
Download and extract the ZIP you received after purchase. -
Run the tool
- Drag & drop Tik_Domino_Rigger.mse into the 3ds Max viewport, or
- Use Scripting → Run Script… and select the
.msefile.
There’s no installation—just run the file.
-
Activate (first run only)
- The Activate Domino Rigger dialog appears.
- Paste your Gumroad license key and click Activate.
- On success, the UI shows Licensed To: your email.
-
Offline use & re-checks
- After activation, Book Rigger works offline for up to 3 days and will occasionally re-verify when online.
- If checks can’t be made, a 5-day grace window applies. After the grace period ends, reconnect once to continue.
-
Reset/Move
- To fully reset activation, close Max and delete:
…\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\<version>\ENU\scripts\book_rigger_license.json - Your license is single-user (per person). You may activate on multiple machines you use exclusively.
- To fully reset activation, close Max and delete:
Troubleshooting
-
“NETWORK_ERROR” / “Could not contact the licensing server.”
Check internet connectivity and system time. Firewalls/proxies may blockapi.gumroad.com; allow outbound HTTPS or try a different network (hotspot/VPN). -
Wrong key
Re-run the Tik_Book_Rigger_3.5.mse, paste the correct key when prompted.
